Zach Goldfine

Zach has a persistent interest in freeing up time, energy, and attention through technology and automation. He began his career learning Visual Basic, PERL, R, and Excel macros to automate statistical analyses and salary cap management for a basketball team in the NBA. He then used those skills to programmatically scrape Yelp data to win a work trial competition and help a dating startup grow to a $35M valuation as an early employee. After that, he learned Python to write software that helped Turo hosts automate parts of their car rental business operations, and helped those hosts generate over $80M in rental revenue. Now, he’s VA’s Deputy CTO for Benefits Delivery, helping VA figure out how to use technology and automation to get Veterans benefits in minutes, not months.

In his free time, he likes to: scour cities for their best burritos; read books about psychology and behavioral economics; play chess; and spend quality time with his family, friends, and Bernedoodle, Keshmesh.
